Stone
Where: Red Stone Golems (1 each), rocks on dungeon floors, the Festering Burrow's first floor, elf merchants now and then, and rocky islands uncovered by Goddess's Tears. Used for: Stone storage, campsite, stone housing, better rooms.

Bones
Where: Beasts and rats in Region 1, plus abandoned structures on floors and islands. Used for: Bone weapons, bone and fortified bone armour, bone staffs.

Copper ore
Where: Deeper floors, mostly the Festering Burrow. Used for: Copper weapons, shields and armour at the Casting Workbench; copper arrows.
Players find copper far rarer than silver. It is the weapon and armour metal, while silver goes into accessories.

Farming without wrecking your drops
Repeatedly clearing the same floor drains its depletion gauge and cuts item drops, and long stays add the Dungeon Stay mood penalty. Rotate floors, and once gold is steady buy clay and stone instead of grinding for them. See how to get clay and depletion and Dungeon Stay.
Resource questions
Where do I get clay early?
From Acid Slogels on Floor 3 of the Veil of Silence onward, and from Predatory Frogs. It becomes much easier in the Festering Burrow, and merchants sell it once you have gold. The clay guide has the full route.
Where is the cogwheel for the research table?
In the wagon at your starting settlement. Select a settler, right-click the wagon and it drops a cogwheel with other supplies; then harvest the wagon. The tutorial asks you to do this.
Why can I not level past 4?
Level 4 to 5 needs Intermediate Mana Stones instead of Lesser ones. They drop from elites and mini-bosses in the Festering Burrow, and adult Gloths drop them often.
