Dungeon Settlers Bosses: How to Beat Every Boss
Before any boss
- Energy first. Skills cost energy and settlers can pass out mid-fight. Every player walkthrough rests to full before engaging.
- A healer. Players rate a nature mage as close to essential: Healing Touch turns its basic attack into a heal and Strange Seed heals allies around it.
- Stuns and focus fire. Stun abilities interrupt casts, and focusing one target is more effective than spreading damage, as Rhadamant’s Red Monster Rat fight shows.
- Pause. Stop the game whenever a boss starts a big attack.
Red Monster Rat (Veil of Silence, Floor 2)
The first main-quest boss, and the one that wiped out your original scouting party. It uses Bloody Scratch, two hits that apply Bleeding and Slow, and Rat Swarm. Rhadamant rested in a blueberry grove before the fight and still found it “way closer than it looked”. The first kill drops the Red Monster Rat Soul Stone, which teaches Bloody Scratch to one of your settlers, and the rat drops 9 Disgusting Monster Meat.
Alpha Acid Slogel (Veil of Silence, Floor 4, chance spawn)
Players call it harder than the Golem. It covers the room in a corrosion area that wrecks armour durability, and stuns do not cancel it. Tactics players report:
- Three archers with Sniping Shot; one very-hard player one-shot it with level 4 archers and a bloodwood bow.
- A blunt-and-shield tank chaining stun charges and Hammering while an archer shoots.
- Fighting near the room entrance so the party can step out of the acid.
- A tank taking armour off mid-fight so it is not destroyed.
It drops 10 Carapace and 32 Lesser Mana Stones, and its soul stone teaches Shell Hardening. It does not appear on every run.
Giant Stone Golem (Veil of Silence, Floor 5)
Region 1’s final boss. It calls in smaller stone golems and marks a red circle around itself; players snipe the small golems and build a camp nearby to retreat to. Beating it conquers the Veil of Silence, the Guild turns the area into a forward camp with the Guild Merchant, and the Festering Burrow opens. It drops a Giant Stone Golem soul stone.
Elder Gloth (Festering Burrow, Floor 4, chance spawn)
Easy to miss: players finished the whole region without meeting it. Keep running Floor 4. Gloths call for allies when their group shrinks, so kill or stun the callers first; since v0.4.19 each Gloth can summon at most three times.
The Festering Burrow boss
Region 2 ends in a boss fight that unlocks the credits and the Abyss. Its name has not been published in any source we can cite, so we do not guess it. Players note that the cave’s goblin shamans and Gloth swarms are a bigger threat on the way down than many bosses, so arrive with stuns, spread out, and carry revives. After the fight, if the portal home fails, a developer confirmed the bug is fixed in current builds.
