Dungeon Settlers Merchants, Gold and the Merchant Table

Getting a merchant table

  1. Beat the Giant Stone Golem on Floor 5 of the Veil of Silence. The area becomes a guild forward camp with several NPCs, including the Guild Merchant.
  2. Go back to that camp. Either run floors 1 to 5 again, or start a run from the second dungeon, which begins at the old boss room.
  3. Buy the merchant scale for 500 gold.
  4. Build a merchant chamber. The merchant table is under the special building category. The in-game text says that once it is built, a merchant from the Guild will be sent to manage it.

The in-game guide describes the merchant room but not how to unlock it, which is why so many forum threads ask.

Other traders

  • Dungeon merchants appear on floors: players mention an elf merchant who sometimes sells stone, and the store page promises trade with dungeon merchants.
  • Since demo patch v0.3.21, Guild Traders and Dungeon Traders carry more gold.
  • Rank 2 Guild Traders selling large amounts of clay and stone was a demo-only change.

Making gold early

  • Sell cheap crafted gear. The Mythoe tips video lists sell values: a Wood Club sells for 17 (17 per log), a Bow or Sword for 22 (11 per log), a Bag for 12 (12 per cloth). Crafted wooden helmets and cloaks also sell for around 30 by another player’s count.
  • Loot valuables. A Grand Crown from a Region 1 chest was worth about 800 gold in one video.
  • Abyss chests give gold and precious materials later on.

What to spend gold on

Recruits (the first one costs up to 500), the merchant scale, and bulk clay or stone once running for them costs more time than it is worth. See how to get clay and the resource finder.
