Dungeon Settlers Camping Kit: Can You Pack It Up?

What the camping kit does

A Basic Camping Kit sets up a small camp on a dungeon floor. Settlers who sleep there get camp buffs, such as “warm by the fire” and minor guardian effects, and rest much better than on bare ground. CanOpener’s first devlog lists camping kits alongside rations as the core supplies you prepare before an expedition.

Can you pack it up?

No. Players on the Steam forum and the Mythoe tips video agree:

  • A deployed camp cannot be picked up again or moved to another floor.
  • Dismantling the camp returns only part of the materials.
  • You will need several kits for a long campaign.

The usual trick is to deploy it next to the floor’s portal room, rest there, then dismantle it before you descend.

Resting without a kit

  • Build a mini camp. You can build on dungeon floors: a worktable, a fire and beds work as a cheaper rest stop.
  • Sleep on the ground. On short runs players simply let the party nap for a few hours. It is worse, but it works.
  • Save energy on the way down. Toggle skill use off with F while clearing easy floors.
  • Find the energy trait. A trait that gives the whole party 30% energy when entering a new floor is highly rated.

Costs to watch

The campsite research and camp building use stone, and players report spending all their stone on camps. Keep a reserve for rooms and storage (see resources). Camping also interacts with the Dungeon Stay mood penalty, so a camp is for resting, not for staying down for days; see depletion and Dungeon Stay.
